KME SE: buyback of Cunova and repayment of the financing

elvenstein has advised KME SE in connection with the buyback of the majority stake in its holding Cunova from Paragon, on the reintegration into the KME group through the transfer of further specialty businesses, and on the repayment of Cunova’s existing debt to Hayfin through a EUR 300 million financing provided by Apollo Global Management. The matter is part of a decades-long relationship with KME and was carried over from the predecessor firm of co-founder Michael Kohl to be continued at elvenstein.

About elvenstein. elvenstein is a boutique for Corporate Finance, Private Capital, Restructuring / Insolvency and Disputes, founded in the summer of 2026. Its two partners, Michael Kohl and Steffen Meier, built their practices at international and national law firms — Kohl at Hogan Lovells and Weil Gotshal, Meier at Wellensiek and White & Case, among others. They act for banks, corporates, funds and investors as well as for (owner-managed) businesses under pressure, large and small, and for private individuals. What the firm offers: distilled experience turned into a real, workable solution — efficient and razor-sharp.
